MOBO UnSung is one of the country’s strongest annual talent competitions for unsigned artists producing original work. SoundOn, TikTok's all-in-one platform for music creators, are bringing them to St Albans where you can watch the big names of tomorrow, today.
Wes Nelson’s unexpected rise in the music industry is nothing short of remarkable. With an astounding 1 billion global streams, chart-topping hits in 10 countries, and co-signs from esteemed figures in the artist community, this former TV star-turned-singer-songwriter has undeniably capitalised on his first two years. His collaborations have been equally impressive, including works with Hardy Caprio, resulting in the UK platinum single “See Nobody” that claimed the #3 spot on the charts. His joint effort with Yxng Bane on “Nice To Meet Ya” earned top 10 rankings in three countries and crossed the 100 million Spotify stream mark. Clean Bandit’s “Drive” also soared to the UK top 20, racking up over 100 million Spotify streams.

The Pioneer Club, Heathlands Drive, St Albans, AL3 5AY
The Pioneer Club is a long standing 400 person capacity music venue in St Albans. Established in 1941, it has seen the likes of The Zombies, Bring Me The Horizon, Enter Shikari, Trash Boat, DJ Hype, Judge Jules, Declan McKenna, Motorhead, Don Broco, Example and Friendly Fires perform over the years. It has a fully stocked bar in The Suet Yard with drinks from Signature Brew on tap. Enter Shikari and Headliner Group have invested in a rejuvenation of the venue brining the quality of production and live shows up to a standard not seen in any venue nearby. It's a special place for music and the community.

Wes Nelson
Known as the Dreadlocked Funkstar, Josh Barry has spent the last 5 years mastering his craft and sculpting a genuine, original image and sound. Drawing huge influence from the soul greats, such as, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding and James Brown, whilst pulling in guitar focused music like Jimi Hendrix, Josh is moving in silent, waiting for the right time to strike and launch himself immediately into the spotlight.
Having been the active frontman and male vocalist for UK House duo Gorgon City, since 2014, Josh is no stranger to the stage. This role has taken him around the world, playing such prestigious stages such as Coachella, Red rocks and Glastonbury. However, Josh has still found time to build a strong reputation for himself, by winning the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Contest in 2017, which lead him to support Rag N Bone Man later that same year.
