I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR Fashion Event
Twenty Outfits
Entry Requirements: All Ages (under 16 must be accompanied by an adult)
We've all looked at our wardrobes and have said 'I have nothing to wear'. When there is enough clothes on this planet to dress 6 generations over, there is definitely plenty of clothes to wear.
It is more important then ever to be more mindful when it comes to shopping for clothes as overproduction and overconsumption are rapidly contributing to climate change. So how can we change our mindset?
twenty outfits is excited to present a special evening to inspire the audience to be more intentional with their consumption habits.
Instead of a conventional catwalk, the evening will kick off with a live catwalk performance where models will demonstrate how to make the best of the clothes we have. Emphasis will be around investing in vintage and well made clothing that will last, rather than buying for the moment. Buy secondhand. Get creative by upcycling, repair your clothes, and consider swapping with friends to refresh your style without adding more to your closet. Staying thoughtful and intentional with your clothing choices is key to mindful consumption.
After the show there will be an opportunity to shop from a collective of diverse businesses with sustainability and small batch in mind. Choosing quality over quantity, and shopping with intention will not only make your holiday giving more meaningful but will also keep your budget in check. Eliza of twenty outfits will be available to chat more about how to shop mindfully.
